Prez consults with lawyers on ordinances

KATHMANDU, Feb 2: Amidst deepening controversy over the government bid to introduce new laws through ordinance, President Dr Ram Baran Yadav on Monday met lawyers at Shital Niwas for consultation on his role in the controversy.



According to Tika Ram Bhattarai, chairperson of Constitution Lawyers´ Forum, the lawyers advised the president to hold more consultations with the prime minister and leaders of the ruling and the opposition parties before taking any step toward promulgating any ordinances.
