KATHMANDU, March 13: After serving as president for two terms, Bidya Devi Bhandari is leaving Sheetal Niwas today, which has been her official residence for almost 7 and a half years. Her second term as president ended on March 12.
Bhandari’s Personal Principal Secretary Bhesh Raj Adhikari said that former President Bhandari is scheduled to leave Sheetal Niwas at 2 pm today.

"The oath taking of the newly elected President (Ramchandra Paudel) is at 1:00 pm. I think the program will be over by 1:30 pm," he said, "She will move out between 1pm to 2pm.”
Although it is certain that Bhandari will leave Sheetal Niwas today, it has not been decided where she will go. Because the renovation of her house at Budhanilkanth is not completed.
Bhandari became the country's president for the first time on October 28, 2015 after the announcement of the Constitution. After the end of the first term, she was elected as the President for the second time on 29th February 2074.
She stayed in Sheetal Niwas for 7 years and 4 months after serving two terms.
Meanwhile, the newly elected President Ramchandra Paudel is scheduled to move from his private residence in Bohratar to Sheetal Niwas today, according to the President's Office.
