KATHMANDU, Nov 8: Preparation of pandals is in full swing on the embankments of Bagmati River in Gaurighat of Kathmandu for the Chhath celebrations. Tents are being stretched on the riverside where devotees would stay for a night till the next morning to worship the Sun.
The local body assigned to set out the pandals has been selling each pandal at a ticket worth 1100 rupees. Hundreds of devotees throng the riverside a day before and on the morning of Chhath to worship the setting and rising sun. Chhath is celebrated annually praying for the longevity of one's husband as well as the prosperity of Children.
