Prime Minister Koirala made this remark while receiving donations meant for the April 25 earthquake survivors at his official residence in Baluwatar this morning. On the occasion, Khursheed Anwar, Director of the Mashreq Bank of the United Arab Emirates and the Bank's country representative Hema Adhikari handed over a cheque worth Rs 2.7 million to PM Koirala as a relief amount for the quake survivors.
Speaking in the event, Koirala said that Nepal is facing various challenges at present. "We are dealing with various natural disasters like earthquake, floods and landslides at present," he said, adding, "We are very thankful to neighbouring countries and donor agencies, who provided helps and relief at a time when Nepal is dealing with such disasters. Their help come as a big relief for us."
Anwar said that he is happy to have helped Nepal at a time when the country is reeling under sorrow.
On a different context, Koirala said there are enough opportunities in hydropower, infrastructure construction, tourism, agriculture and medicinal herbs in Nepal and such sectors need investment. He also urged the investors to invest in Nepal as the country is witnessing political stability and peace.
Meanwhile, the Nepal Public Relations Committee in South Korea and various other organizations have donated a total of Rs 536,000 meant for the earthquake survivors. The relief amounts have been deposited in the Prime Minister's Natural Disaster Relief Fund. RSS
