NEPALGUNJ, Feb 18: Maoist defector Matrika Yadav on Wednesday accused Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal of promoting corruption in the government and being engaged in anti-people activities.
"Prachanda (PM Dahal) looks revolutionary in face value but he is extremely opportunist in practice and does anti-people works," said Yadav while speaking at an interaction in Nepalgunj, Wednesday. "He is promoting the corrupt and sycophants." [break]
Yadav alleged that Maoist leaders themselves are involved in corruption and smuggling. "When I took action against red sandalwood smugglers (as a minister for forest), Maoist leaders put pressure on the police to release them," claimed Yadav.
Yadav also accused the Maoist leaders of giving up on revolutionary army, revolutionary party and revolutionary front, the very forces essential to accomplish a revolution in any country. "Instead, Prachanda has agreed with his Indian counterpart to disband the party´s revolutionary army during his India visit." said Yadav. "I was informed this through special envoys when I was receiving treatment in India at that time."
Yadav also accused PM Dahal of deviating from party principles and losing his revolutionary spirit. "He has come down to Pushpa Kamal Dahal from Prachanda. Prachanda was fighting for freedom; Dahal is fighting for himself and his kin."
He claimed that senior Maoist leaders have started living a lavish life like that of Nepali Congress and UML leaders and demonstrated their power-hungry attitude. "Dahal´s readiness to sacrifice in Baluwatar is perfect example of power-hunger attitude," Yadav said.
Yadav´s remarks came within a week of his announcement to reorganize the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist). He has claimed that all his former comrades left the party to form Unified Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist).
