Postage stamp to promote NTY 2011

KATHMANDU, Dec. 30: The Department of Postal Service (DoPS) has brought into use two new postage stamps from Thursday.



The stamps carry slogans of Nepal Tourism Year 2011 and let´s develop the habit of handwashing with soap.



Created by artist Mohannar Singh Rana, the stamps are worth Rs. 5 and Rs. 2. Minister for Information and Communications Shankar Pokharel affixed the first cancellation mark on the commemorative stamps and expressed hope that both the postage stamps will be successful.



The government has prioritised NTY 2011 and building health awareness, he said.



At the programme, Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation Sharat Singh Bhandari said that NTY 2011 has been launched to start an economic revolution in the country.
