Police round up 35 protesters from capital

KATHMANDU, June 25: Police have arrested 35 protesters from different parts of the capital city on Thursday morning against what is call attempts to hamper the ongoing International Conference on Nepal’s Reconstruction.

SSP Uttam Karki, Chief of Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu, 23 demonstrators associated with Bibeksheel Nepali Party were arrested from Soaltee Mode of Kathmandu, six supporters of Madhesi activist CK Raut from Sundhara and six others of Greater Nepal from Baluwatar were detained.

All those arrested have been kept at Nepal Police Club.

Police have beefed up security to prevent any untoward incident during the much-touted conference.
