Police raid Pokhara hotels; Looter still at large

POKHARA, Jan 4: Police raided scores of hotels in Pokhara Thursday night in search of a person who made off with cash from a local remittance company late in the afternoon.



According to Rabindra Poudel, spokesperson for Kaski police, they launched raids throughout the night on a number of hotels in places, including Prithvichowk, Mahendra bridge and Lakeside, without success. "The search is still on," he added.  [break]



A masked person had burst into the counter of Sabhyata IME at 5 pm in Pokhara-9 and took under control its employee Pranita Gurung before decamping with Rs 404,602 at 5 pm. The company is owned by Pranita’s brother Dipak , who was not there when the incident happened.
