Police open fire in Gothatar to arrest drug dealers

KATHMANDU, Nov 1: In a special operation in Gothatar, police officers resorted to using firearms to apprehend drug dealers.


According to SP Rabindra Regmi from the Valley Crime Investigation Office, the police had to open fire when the suspects attempted to attack them while attempting to apprehend Indian citizen Mohammad Karim. Regmi reported, "Karim sustained a gunshot wound to his right thigh."

Upon searching the suspects, the Valley Crime Investigation Office recovered approximately 200 grams of brown heroin and weighing scales. The operation led to the arrest of not only Indian citizen Mohammad Karim but also Nepali citizen Harka Limbu.


This incident follows a previous one on June 11, when the Narcotics Control Bureau of the police had resorted to firing to apprehend another drug dealer.
