KATHMANDU, July 11: In today's meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR), Nawaraj Silwal, an MP from the main opposition party CPN-UML, has objected to the plan to purchase arms for the police in the current economic situation of the country.

As soon as today's meeting of the HoR started, he said that the police needed technology more than weapons. He accused the government of trying to buy weapons for the police through budget transfer.
