Police nab two persons for selling poison-laced liquor

GAUSHALA, June 25: Police have arrested two persons manufacturing and selling liquor laced with poison after five people died after the consumption of such liquor in Mahottari district.

GAUSHALA, June 25: Police have arrested two persons manufacturing and selling liquor laced with poison after five people died after the consumption of such liquor in Mahottari district. 


The arrested are Jagat Bahadur Bulun of Hattilet VDC-4 and Binod Mahara of Sahasaul VDC-6, according to the Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Mahottaqri, Janak Bhattarai.

Bulun manufactures the liquor while Mahara sells the liquor produced by Bulun. 

Rambrishya Mallaik, 70, and his son Ram Pragas Mallik, 35, of Sahasaul-6, his daughter Kalawati Devi, 40, son-in law Pancha Mallik, 45, of Gaushala Municipality-7 and father of Pancha Mallik, Badri Mallik, 60 of Aurahi VDC died after consuming liquor bough from the shop of Mahara on last Friday and Saturday. 


Police arrested both of them on Friday in course of carrying out investigation into the case as the liquor manufactured by Bulun and sold by Mahara was found poison-laced one. 

Both of them have been brought to the District Police Office, Mahottari, for legal action. RSS
