Police nab poll-opposing CPN-Maoist activists

UDAYAPUR, Oct 27: Police have arrested three CPN-Maoist cadres for their alleged involvement in anti-poll activities in different parts of the district on Saturday.



The police arrested Parshu Ram Pokharel, a district leader of CPN-Maoist from Katari, Tribeni-9 while he was provoking the public to boycott voting and was distributing anti-election pamphlets, said DSP Kishan Singh Thapa, In-charge of the Area Police Office Katari.



Likewise, police have arrested two other district level leaders, Min Prasad Pokharel and Babu Ram Subedi, from Boltar bazaar in constituency no. 1 while they were in a bid to disrupt election campaign of UCPN (Maoist).



It is learnt that UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal was scheduled to address the election gathering there, said Dhundi Raj Neupane, Inspector at the Boltar Area Police Office.
