KATHMANDU, Sept 17: Police have detained 13 supporters of Kathmandu Mayor Balen Shah from the Basantpur area during the Indra Jatra festival. The individuals, who were wearing t-shirts with Shah's image, were taken into police premises to prevent potential clashes with locals.

According to the District Police Range, the group was held for their own safety after a dispute arose. Police emphasized the need for a civil celebration and stated that slogans in support of individuals should not be raised during a festival.
