Police club defeats Jhapa-11

PATHARI, Morang, Feb 27: Nepal Police Club defeated Jhapa-11, 1-0, in the final of Birat Gold Cup Football tournament in Biratnagar in Morang on Saturday.

Both teams failed to score in the first half of play and it was police club's Bharat Sah who scored a decisive goal against Jhapa in the 87th minute in the second half, helping the club lift the trophy.


The winner and first runner-up were given away Rs 501,000 and trophy, and Rs 301,000 and trophy respectively.

Club's Bhola Silwal was declared 'man of the match'. Likewise, club's Suman Subedi was declared 'best player' and he was presented with a motorcycle.

Chief of the Army Staff Rajendra Chhetri gave away cash prizes and trophy to the winners amid a programme. RSS
