KATHMANDU, May 21: Metropolitan Police Crime Division (MPCD), Kathmandu on Saturday arrested Manoj Pandey, who faces allegation of raping a teenager some eight years ago.
Senior police officials confirmed that Pandey has been kept in police custody for interrogation. Police is conducting further investigation into the incident.

The incident came to light after victim, who is now 24-year old, narrated her harrowing experience in a 20-series of video on TiktTok. She has alleged that Pandey had raped in a hotel room, where he had invited her to celebrate success of a beauty pageant which she had participated in.
Amid growing call to take action against the guilty, Nepal Police Headquarters on Friday had formed a three-member committee headed by SSP Basanta Kunwar to look into the matter. Other members of the committee include SP Krishna Koirala, DSP Kopila Chudal, DSP Hari Basnet and Inspector Sapana Khadka.
