Pokhara High Court issues interim order for 24-hour operation of Lakeside

POKHARA, Nov 8: The Pokhara High Court has issued an interim order to run all businesses round the clock in Lakeside, the tourist hub in Pokhara.

POKHARA, Nov 8: The Pokhara High Court has issued an interim order to run all businesses round the clock in Lakeside, the tourist hub in Pokhara.



A single bench of Acting Chief Judge Rajan Prasad Bhattarai, upholding the writ petition filed by Devi Kumari Baral, ordered that Lakeside be opened round the clock.

In the Home Administration Reform Action Plan, it is mentioned that necessary security arrangements will be made to keep markets open for 24 hours in areas with high traffic of tourists such as Thamel, Durbar Marg, and Lakeside of Pokhara. According to the same action plan, businesses should operate unless activities against the law are found.


Furthermore, the court has ordered a written response from the government regarding this matter.
