KATHMANDU, Nov 12: The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers has denied the charge by the UCPN (Maoist) that the government was not serious toward resolving the ongoing political deadlock.

A statement issued by PM´s Press Advisor Bishnu Rijal on Thursday said that Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal is committed to resolving the ongoing political deadlock through dialogues as soon as possible.

Despite his poor health the prime minister has repeatedly requesting the Maoist for talks, Rijal said.

According to him, Nepal in a telephonic conversation with the Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Wednesday had requested the latter to stop the ongoing protests and resolve the deadlock. "Dahal had promised to call back to discuss the prime minister´s proposal to hold dialogue for finding common understanding and for passing the budget," Rijal said.
