BHAKTAPUR, June 23: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli laid the foundation for the construction of National Wildlife Park at Suryabinayak in the district today.
On the occasion, Prime Minister Oli said that the government was expediting different developmental projects with new plan and implementation strategies.
He also shared that the government was preparing to construct a fast track tunnel route from Kathmandu to Bidur of Nuwakot. With the construction of the route, travelers can reach Bidur within half an hour against the current time of two hours. He argued that though it is costly, it saves time and fuel in the long-run.
The wildlife lesson
PM Oli said it was a first step for constructing such tunnel routes adding that thousands of such routes would be constructed in the future. He argued that though Nepal has abundant bio-diversity and plants variety, they were facing dangers due to urbanization, modernization and human needs as well.
Stating that our oriental culture was closely associated with nature but human activities were affecting the balance, PM Oli said that the district is an open museum and that the construction of the park would add more attraction to the visitors.
He stressed on paying proper attention on bio-diversity and local specialty and interest while constructing it. He also thanked Nepal Army for its cooperation in the process of shifting its training spot from there.
Addressing the same program, Minister for Forest and Soil Conservation Agni Sapkota called for developing the park as a model place for preserving the endangered animals.
He said the park was not similar to a zoo as it will be a living museum.
Similarly, Nepal Workers Peasants Party chair Narayan Man Bijukchhe urged the government to address the concerns and aspiration of the locals while constructing the animal park. RSS
