PM Oli apprises parliament of imminent BIMSTEC

KATHMANDU, Aug 28: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has apprised the parliament of the upcoming summit of Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) scheduled for August-30-31.

KATHMANDU, Aug 28: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has apprised the parliament of the upcoming summit of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) scheduled for August-30-31.


Prime Minister Oli said that the government is all set to make the fourth BIMSTEC summit a huge success which will focus on the existing environmental challenges, climate change and other issues related to sustainable developments.

Of the total 14 various themes, Nepal has been dealing with the issue of poverty alleviation. Oli expressed optimism that the summit will be helpful to successfully discharge its responsibilities through the people to people connectivity.


He further said that Nepal will also hold bilateral meetings with the leadership of India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh to reach agreements on the development issues of Nepal during the summit.
