Finance minister willing to help local entrepreneurs
After 10 days of stepping down as the Finance Minister, Khatiwada has been appointed as the Chief Economic Advisor of Prime Minister Oli.
According to a cabinet source, the newly appointed Chief Economic Advisor Khatiwada will help Oli oversee the economic and financial affairs of the country.
Khatiwada stepped down as the Finance Minister on September 4 after he could not be nominated as a member of the National Assembly. He resigned a day before his tenure expired as the existing constitutional provision bars a non-parliamentarian to become minister more than six months.
