PM interacts with locals on road expansion drive

KATHMANDU, April 11: Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai on Wednesday held a discussion with locals and government officials on the ongoing road expansion drive being carried out in the capital.



During the interaction, PM Bhattarai pointed out to the need to broaden and enhance the standards of roads in view of the recent trend of  population increase. “Building construction carried out ignoring the law has brought about this situation,” Bhattai said. [break]



He also made it clear that the government is committed to strictly enforce the law curbing such illegal construction of buildings and installations and added that no compensation will be proved for the demolition of those buildings built violating the law.



On the occasion, the PM also received progress report handed over to him by government officials regarding the road expansion campaign.
