PM informs Prez about India trip

KATHMANDU, Oct 19: Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai on Wednesday morning met President Dr Ram Baran Yadav and informed him about his four-day official visit to India beginning Thursday.



During the meeting held at the presidential residence in Shital Niwas, Maharajgunj, Bhattarai informed Yadav that his visit would mainly focus on enhancing bilateral economic ties including India’s developmental assistance to Nepal. [break]



The PM is, however, learnt to have informed Yadav that he would not strike deal with India on any of the disputed issues and those having long-term implications for the Nepal-India relations.



On the occasion, Yadav expressed his hope that the PM´s visit would help strengthen the ties between the two neighbors.



Earlier, PM Bhattarai had consulted top leaders of various political parties on the agendas to be discussed during the visit.



Meanwhile, Constituent Assembly Chairman Subash Chandra Nembang has also met President Yadav at the presidential residence in Shital Niwas.



It is said that Nembang, during the meeting, apprised Yadav of latest political developments and the progress achieved so far on the peace and constitution writing fronts.
