KATHMANDU, August 19: A meeting has been held among Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and CPN-UML (Socialist) Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal.
According to the Prime Minister's Secretariat, the meeting took place at the PM's residence in Baluwatar this morning. During the meeting, discussions were held on contemporary politics of the country and expansion of the Council of Ministers. The three top leaders met today after the CPN-UML officially split and the Nepal-led faction registered a new party, following the introduction of an ordinance easing splits in political parties on Tuesday.

With the issuance of the ordinance, a political party can be split if 20 percent of members of either the Central Committee or Parliamentary Party are in favor of a split.
