PM Dahal directs NDL to start drug production

KATHMANDU, Jan 14: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal appreciated the efforts made by Nepal Drug Limited (NDL) for the production of drugs and directed them to start the production of 20 types of drugs immediately.

KATHMANDU, Jan 14: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal appreciated the efforts made by Nepal Drug Limited (NDL) for the production of drugs and directed them to start the production of 20 types of drugs immediately.


The Prime Minister summoned an NDL team including its Chairman Yagya Neupane, to his office today and instructed them to start production immediately.


On that occasion, PM Dahal said that in the past, NDL had done good work in the field of pharmaceutical production and that in recent times there have been obstacles to it. He instructed the NDL team to carry forward the work in a new way.

"In the past, Nepal Drug Limited did a good job in the field of drug production, but I understood that there were irregularities in the middle,” PM Dahal said, “I have called this meeting so that the work of drug production is accelerated in a new way. You should start working, I am ready for whatever support is needed on behalf of the government.”


PM Dahal mentioned that by starting the production of 20 drugs now, both the quality and quantity should be increased in the future.


According to PM Dahal’s Private Secretariat, NDL Chairman Neupane said that 10 types of drugs are currently being produced and the necessary homework for the production of 20 types of drugs will be carried out immediately.


Neupane promised to organize some technical manpower, increase the quality of machines and purchase some new machines to organize the production.
