PM Dahal leaving for India today to attend Indian PM Modi's swearing-in ceremony

KATHMANDU, June 9: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal is going to India today. He will leave for New Delhi this afternoon, leading a five-member delegation to attend the swearing-in ceremony of his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi.

KATHMANDU, June 9: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal is going to India today. He will leave for New Delhi this afternoon, leading a five-member delegation to attend the swearing-in ceremony of his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi.


Prime Minister Dahal will be accompanied by his daughter Ganga Dahal, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Padam Giri, Foreign Secretary Sewa Lamsal and other high-ranking government officials employees. Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to take oath for the third term this evening.

According to the Embassy of Nepal in New Delhi, a meeting between PM Dahal and PM Modi is planned this evening after Modi, the leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), takes oath. Prime Minister Dahal will return to the country tomorrow.


Prime Minister Dahal met President Ram Chandra Paudel on Saturday and informed about his visit to India.


The meeting of the Council of Ministers on Thursday decided that the Prime Minister will participate in the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Modi. Earlier, Prime Minister Dahal had made an official visit to India last May.
