The prime minister in a meeting with Rokka and Lama on Tuesday evening at his residence in Baluwatar asked them to resolve the matter at the earliest.
“We primarily discussed about the Sixth National Games and NOC. We apprised the prime minister of all the details about these two issues. The prime minister himself raised the issue of NOC in the meeting and said that the dispute in NOC is bringing negative publicity to the country,” Lama said.
PM Bhattarai is also the ex-officio patron of NSC.
According to Lama, PM Bhattarai has expressed commitments to solve the dispute through a meeting of the council of ministers if other efforts does not work.
Claiming that the dispute will end soon, Lama said, “The PM has advised us to solve the matter through the regulations of NSC. If that does not work, the state shall write to IOC and if that also does not solve the matter, it shall be resolved through the decision of the council of ministers.”
Lama said the PM is positive about increasing the budget for the National Games to be held in mid-February.
The PM had also directed them to start the process of amending NSC rules and regulations immediately as it fails to accord importance to players and sports activists in NSC, Lama said.
