PM asks PLA commanders for patience

KATHMANDU, Jan 3: Prime Minister and Chairman of CPN (Maoist) Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Saturday asked senior commanders of the Maoists’ People’s Liberation Army (PLA) for patience until the army integration task is completed.



During a meeting of all the seven divisional commanders of the PLA in Nayabazaar of Kathmandu, Dahal said the commanders required to show high degree of patience because there were positive developments towards integration of two armies.

He was responding to the request by PLA commanders for permission to start recruitment in PLA to counter the Nepal Army’s latest recruitment drive. In the meeting called “general staff meeting”, the PLA Commander Nanda Kishor Pun, former Deputy Commander and Constituent Assembly member Barsha Man Pun, Deputy Commander Chandra Prasad Khanal and commanders from seven PLA Divisions were present.


According to PLA Commander Nanda Kishor Pun, the party has decided to celebrate this year’s PLA Day in the Fourth Division, Nawalparasi in February.
