The main event of SNPL Masters 2013 will tee off on May 8 while the Pro-Am event on May 7 will be the curtain raiser of the richest golf tournament of Nepal with a record prize money of Rs 4.8 million.[break]
Khan would be a player to watch in the main event, as he is a professional golfer with nine pro titles in his kitty.
Khan, 35, had turned pro in 1995. He won the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) Players Championship at the Classic Golf Resort earlier this year. He also had two other top-10 finishes in the current season and as a result lies third in the Rolex Rankings for 2013.
Khan, who hails from Delhi, India, won the 2012 Rolex Rankings after winning three tournaments -- PGTI Players Championship at Poona Club, PGTI Players Championship at Classic Golf Resort and BILT Open -- and finishing joint second in the PGTI Players Championship events at Oxford Golf & Country Club and at Chandigarh Golf Club. He earned in excess of Rs 5.7 million (a record in PGTI) in prize money during the 2012 season.
He was tied for ninth at the Asian Tour & PGTI co-sanctioned SAIL-SBI Open 2012.
He won the SRF All India Match-play Championship 2010 and also secured 11 other top-10 finishes during the season, including a runner-up finish at the PGTI Players Championship presented by Aamby Valley Golf Course and a joint runner-up finish at the PGTI Players Championship presented by Bombay Presidency Golf Club.
