Plan Int'l Nepal concludes its response and recovery program

KATHMANDU, 26: Plan International Nepal has completed its earthquake response and recovery program implemented at quake-affected communities in six districts that aimed to support reconstruction work after the devastating 2015 earthquakes.

KATHMANDU, 26: Plan International Nepal has completed its earthquake response and recovery program implemented at quake-affected communities in six districts that aimed to support reconstruction work after the devastating 2015 earthquakes.


Plan International Nepal has provided support to affected families and communities in Dolakha, Sindhupalchowk, Makwanpur, Sindhuli, Kathmandu and Lalitpur on education, health, shelter, water, sanitation and hygiene facilities.

“During this period 23 safe and inclusive schools were constructed in the affected areas with the support of Plan International Nepal. The schools now have earthquake resilient building and structures and able to provide education in safe and inclusive environment,” the organization said in its statement issued on Thursday. “Under its recovery program, about 200 drinking water schemes have been completed and handed over to the community and its beneficiaries.”


It said that also around 21,000 households received support to build latrines and a health post with a birthing center in Dolakha was also constructed to provide health service to the affected communities.
