RASUWA, Aug 25: Pilgrims heading towards Kailash Manasarovar have been stranded after rainfall damaged the road towards China. 


Chief District Officer of Rasuwa, Bed Nidhi Khanal, said the flood in Kerung rivulet, five kilometers towards north China from Miteri bridge of Rasuwagadhi, encroached the highway, resulting in vehicular movement disruption.

Around 500 pilgrims on their way to Nepal after visiting Kailash Manasarovar have been stranded at Kerung and around 100 pilgrims heading towards Kailash Manasarovar at Rasuwagadhi following the disruption of transport service.  


Nepal Police and APF Number 20 Battallion, Rasuwa, have been coordinating to support stranded pilgrims.  Kerung Administration in Tibetan Autonomous Region of China has also been requested to take initiatives to resume the vehicular movement and facilitate the pilgrims heading towards Kailash Manasarovar, added Khanal.
