KATHMANDU, Aug 1: The meeting of Parliamentary Hearing Special Committee (PHSC) has been delayed. The meeting which was scheduled for 3.30 pm on Wednesday afternoon could not start its official meeting. However, it has been learned that the members are holding informal meetings.
“The meeting of the committee is yet to begin. The members are busy in informal talks”, informed Gopal Nath Yogi, secretary at Secretariat of Federal Parliament.
PHSC may endorse Joshee for CJ today
The meeting is scheduled to decide on the fate of acting Chief Justice Deepak Raj Joshee.
According to the parliamentary regulations, any recommendation can be rejected by two-thirds (10 members) of the committee. Previously, the meeting of the PHSC was suspended twice. The meeting was then called for Monday. However, the meeting failed to make any decision as main opposition party Nepali Congress asked for more time for further discussion.
