Petrolimex imports additional air fuel

KATHMANDU, Dec 5: The Petrolimex, a private firm which was awarded the contract of importing aviation fuel into the country has airlifted more than 83,000 liters aviation fuel.
The additional volume of fuel was brought on Saturday from Lucknow of India via two flights of the Jordan Airlines.NOC Spokesperson Mukunda Ghimire confirmed the extra supply of aviation fuel into the country by the Petrolimex. The national flag carrier Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) is presently bringing aviation fuel on daily basis via Kathmandu-Kolkata flights, according to Spokesperson Ghimire.
Fuel imported via air route will be distributed to domestic and international airlines operating flights in the country. The import of fuel by the Petrolimex is expected to somehow ease the fuel supply in the country facing a severe fuel crisis due to prolonged obstructions on the Nepal-India border.
The company was awarded the contract of supplying aviation fuel into the country through an international bidding process.
Similarly, the same Company is busy in preparations for importing additional fuel via an aircraft of the Ethiopian Airlines. RSS
