KATHMANDU, June 13: The Patan High Court has ordered the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) not to padlock commercial rentals managed by community schools until June 21. This order was issued by Judge Lekhnath Paudel on Wednesday in response to a writ petition filed by Tulsi Prasad Agasti.

The interim order prevents the closure of commercial rentals managed by community schools until June 21. The court has called both the plaintiff and defendant to present their arguments in court on June 21.

Last Monday, the Education Department of KMC locked 175 commercial rentals managed by 13 community schools. Out of these, seven schools had their rentals locked by the department, while 6 six schools voluntarily closed their commercial rentals. Additionally, on the previous Sunday, 61 commercial rentals of 4 schools were padlocked.
