KATHMANDU, August 10: The meeting of the Legislature-Parliament today unanimously passed the Bill on Criminal Offence (Determination of Penalty and Execution), 2074.
Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Yagya Bahadur Thapa, had presented a proposal in the meeting seeking the bill's passage. This is one of the five new bills brought to replace the Muluki Ain (the Civil Code).
Before this, the Civil Crime Code Bill, 2074 and the Civil Crime Work Procedure Code Bill, 2074 were passed on Wednesday.

Similarly, the parliament today approved the proposal presented on behalf Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba by Minister Thapa that the House consider the Bill Related to the Remuneration and Facilities of the President and the Vice President, 2074.
The meeting, likewise, gave its consent to the proposal to send to the related committee for clause-wise discussions the Prevention of Caste-based Discrimination and Practice of Untouchability (Crime and Punishment), First Amendment Bill, 2074.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Federal Affairs and Local Development, Bijaya Kumar Gachchhadar had presented the proposal.
In like manner, Minister for Commerce Min Bahadur Bishwakarma presented the Commodity Exchange (Management and Regulation) Bill, 2074 in the parliament meeting.
The meeting approved the proposal presented by Finance Minister Gyanendra Bahadur Karki seeking to send the Bill on Auditing, 2073 to the committee concerned.
President of the International Relations and Labour Committee Juth Bahadur Tuhure Khadgi presented the committee's report on the Labour Bill. He said the report has suggested on ways of stopping the situation of the country's human resources going abroad for labour due to the closure of domestic industries because of strikes and labour exploitation, and to resolve the disputes between employers and the workers.
