PADT scraps deal reached with Batas Group to operate Nepal-India friendly Pashupati Dharmashala on lease

KATHMANDU, April 4: The Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT) has canceled the agreement with Hotel Ananda, that had been operating Nepal-India friendly Pashupati Dharmashala on lease.

KATHMANDU, April 4: The Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT) has canceled the agreement with Hotel Ananda, that had been operating Nepal-India friendly Pashupati Dharmashala on lease.


The agreement has been canceled as Hotel Ananda Pvt Ltd did not comply with the terms of the agreement reached between the PADT and Hotel Ananda. The meeting of the Board of Directors of PADT decided to cancel the agreement reached with Batas Group and issued a notice stating the same.

Member Secretary of the PADT, Dr Milan Kumar Thapa, said that Batas Group refused to receive the letter sent by the officials and employees of PADT regarding the cancellation of the agreement between the Trust and Hotel Ananda. "Hotel Ananda did not abide by the agreement made with Pashupati Area Development Trust. The meeting of the Board of Directors of the Trust decided to cancel the agreement. The Batas group did not receive it when they went to submit the letter,” he said.


Although the Batas Group refused to receive the letter canceling the agreement, the PADT has already sent a letter to the group's official email. On Thursday, the PADT had written a letter to Hotel Ananda regarding the cancellation of the agreement as per the direction of Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Prem Bahadur Ale.
