KATHMANDU, Sept 5: The Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT) has urged visitors to Pashupatinath Temple for Haritalika Teej to avoid wearing expensive jewelry and bringing small children due to the large crowds expected.
Rewati Raman Adhikari, spokesperson for PADT, said that past thefts of jewelry during the festival have led to this precaution. He said, "There have been many reports of stolen jewelry in previous years. To prevent such incidents, we recommend not wearing valuable jewelry."

Adhikari also advised against wearing expensive sarees due to the risk of fire when lighting lamps, suggesting simpler attire instead.
The PADT has made thorough preparations for the festival, including security, volunteer management, traffic control, parking, health camps, and free water distribution.
All four temple doors will open at 3 AM, one hour earlier than usual. Unlike previous years, traffic on the Ring Road will not be fully stopped this time.
Security will be handled by all four security agencies to ensure the safety of visitors in the Pashupati area.
