KATHMANDU, April 14: The Metropolitan Traffic Police Division has taken action against 111 public vehicles plying on long routes for violating the rule of keeping two drivers.
As the Division said, the traffic police at Nagdhunga point found them disregarding the rule which has been enforcing since February 10. The provision was introduced and implemented by the Nepal Police Headquarters, Highway Security and Traffic Directorate.

Earlier, it had launched a traffic communication apps to track whether long- route public vehicles have two drivers at the time of operation. According to Division chief and Senior Superintendent of Police Basanta Kumar Panta, the provision was implemented as per the Motor Vehicles and Transport Management Act- 1993. The rule violators were fined Rs 1,000 each.
