Participating in a discussion in the House of Representatives (HoR) on Sunday, Khanal demanded that all MCC-related documents be brought to Parliament. He said the MCC agreement has far-reaching significance and should be discussed in the right environment. “How can the MCC documents not be brought to the House?” he questioned.

He said treaties and agreements should be discussed by all parliamentarians. Mentioning that there are about a dozen agreements, he said that the correspondence with MCA Nepal should also be made public. Stating that Nepal does not consider any country as an enemy, former Prime Minister Khanal said that only that foreign assistance which respects Nepal's sovereignty and self-respect would be welcomed.
