Senior Divisional Engineer under the MoFALD Gyaniratna Shrestha has been relieved from the government service for his absence in office for consecutive three months without informing the office. A source said Shrestha is in a foreign country for the past three months without informing the ministry.
The Civil Service Act says ministries can sack their employees if they are found absent from duty for 90 consecutive days without informing their offices.
The ministry sprang into action against its officials in line with the recommendation of the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority, Spokesman at the ministry, Purna Chandra Bhattarai said.

Under secretaries Bijayaraj Subedi, Yamlal Adhikari, Tilak Poudel and Pashupati Khatiwada who are working in different bodies under the MoGA have faced action.
According to MoFALD, Undersecretary Narahari Bhandari, section officers Shambhu Mehta and Ramchandra Mehta, Village Development Committee secretaries Muktiram Bhattarai, Ram Ujjan Raya, Haridatta Kandel, Ramesh Paudel, Kamal Gautam and Ramkumar Shrestha have faced action on CIAA recommendation.
