One more red panda found in Illam

ILAM, Feb. 23: One more red panda has been found in Surke National Forest Area based in Mabu of Ilam.



A team from Hong Kong headed by Jack arrived here to carryout a research on red panda, considered a rare wildlife in the world, found it in the forest area. [break]



The team knew that the site has a habitat of red panda, locally known as Habre, from locals.



According to local Dawa Temba Sherpa, there are two other red pandas in the forest area.



It has already been confirmed that the northern belt of the district has the red panda´s habitat.



It is said Chhintapu of Maimajhuwa and Magetagel of Jogmai will be the team´s next destinations for study on red pandas, as these sites are believed to have this rare species of wildlife.



It is estimated that with this, the number of red pandas has reached over a dozen in the district.
