MAKAWANPUR, Aug 6: A motorcyclist has died while another person has sustained injuries after they were hit by a tipper in Gairigaun of Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as twenty-six-year old Tanka Neupane of Hetauda-17, according to Naresh Kumar Singh, sub-inspector and spokesperson of District Police Office (DPO), Makawanpur. After the incident, seriously injured Tanka was taken to Chure Hill Hospital for treatment where the doctor pronounced him dead on arrival.
One killed after tipper knocks down a motorcycle
Tanka's sister Gita, 21, who was pillion riding, was initially taken to Chure Hill Hospital but was later referred to New Medical College, Bharatpur. She is currently out of danger, informed police.
The driver of the tipper, Ekraj Ghalan, 33, of Manhari Rural Municipality-1 is currently under judicial custody for investigation. The ill-fated motorcycle with registration number Ba 42 Pa 7070 was heading toward Gairigaun-based cement factory from Hetauda when it was hit by the tipper (Na Kha 7323) coming from the opposite direction. Reportedly, the high-speed tipper did not just slam the motorcycle but also hit an electricity pole in the road.
