KATHMANDU, Feb 25: One person died in a motorcycle accident in Gauriganj Rural Municipality-1, Jhapa, on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the District Police Office, Jhapa, a motorcycle (Ba 65 Pa 8786) heading to Dhangadhi from Kunjibari met with an accident along the Postal Highway in Gauriganj Rural Municipality-1, Jhapa District. The accident took place at 12:55 pm after the motorcycle lost control, veered off its trail and collided with a pillar on the left side of the road.
Ward chair dies in a motorbike accident
The rider Suraj Rajbanshi, 17, from Shivasatakshi Municipality-4 Jhapa, sustained injuries to his nose, face, and head, resulting in serious injuries. Following the accident, he was rushed to Damak Hospital for treatment where the doctor declared him dead during treatment at 2:15 pm.
According to police, further investigation is underway.
