Obstructed Bhimdutta Highway resumes

DOTI, Jan 4: Traffic along the Bhimdutta Panta Highway which was obstructed since Friday evening due to snowfall has resumed after 12 hours on Saturday.

DOTI, Jan 4: Traffic along the Bhimdutta Panta Highway which was obstructed since Friday evening due to snowfall has resumed after 12 hours on Saturday. 


Vehicular movement on the highway connecting Dadeldhura, Baitadi, Bajhang, Darchula, Achham, Bajura and Doti was completely halted following heavy snowfall on Friday leaving hundreds of passengers heading to various destinations in those districts stranded.

The highway links seven hilly districts of the Sudur Paschim Province. 


Traffic turned normal on the highway after the snow accumulated on the road was removed this morning using a dozer by Road Division Office and the personnel of the Nepali Army, the Armed Police Force and Nepal Police, according to Chief at the District Police Office Doti Superintendent of Police Dilip Singh Deuba. 


Meanwhile, the ADSL and landline telephone service have got disrupted in the hilly districts of the Sudur Paschim Province including Doti due to the heavy snowfall.
