Assistant administrator of Nepal Telecom Teku office, Srikrishna Baniya, assistant Kalpana Gyawali, senior assistant Ganesh Gautam and office assistant Icchyaraj Thapa had purchased ten bundles of RIM cards at the rate of Rs. 1,700 in collusion.[break]
Nepal Telecom has said these unregistered RIM cards might be misused. Telecom had constituted a committee under the convenorship of manager Bijaya Kumar Thakur to investigate into the misuse of RIM cards.
President of Nepal Telecom National Employees Organization, Krishna Khatiwada said the report of the Thakur committee is weak and it will give leeway to the accused.
Khatiwada said only one of the four accused has been arrested and the rest of the accused in the scam have not been arrested yet.
