NSU, ANNFSU demand resumption of vote counting

KATHMANDU, March 22: Nepali Congress and CPN-UML-affiliated student unions demanded the Tribhuvan University administration on Sunday to ensure resumption of stalled vote counting of various campuses and announce results of the Free Student Union election held on March 19 immediately.

In a joint statement, Pradip Poudel of Nepal Student Union (NSU) and Ram Kumari Jhankri of All Nepal National Free Students´ Union (ANNFSU) have called on rival student unions to accept the verdicts given by students in the election, according to democratic norms and values. They also criticise the leadership of the Maoist-affiliated student union for not accepting their defeat.


They have urged resumption of stalled vote counting especially in the TU Central Campus (Kirtipur), PN Campus (Pokhara) and Butwal Campus.
