KATHMANDU, Oct 30: On Tuesday, the day of Dhanteras, the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) recorded sales of approximately Rs 184.979 million in gold and silver bullions.
NRB sells 43,000 gold and silver coins in five days
The bank offered gold and silver bullion at its Mint Division in Babarmahal, selling 4,520 units of 2.5 gram bullion of gold. Additionally, 14,600 silver bullions and medallions were sold, including 3,300 Laxmi medallions, 2,600 Ganesha medallions, and 2,900 Gajalaxmi medallions, as well as various cow medallions.
Due to limited availability, the sale was restricted to this day, leading to customers queuing from early morning. During Tihar last year, the bank had sold 3,181 units of 2.5-gram bullion over six days. This year, due to rising gold prices, only 2.5-gram gold bullion was offered.
