NRB directs banks to provide promoters' details

KATHMANDU, Jan 30: Nepal Rastra Bank has directed all the commercial banks and financial institutions to send the details of those shareholders who own promoter shares of their institutions worth more than two million rupees. [break]



The directive issued on Friday has urged all the financial institution, which came into operation after fiscal year 2002/03, to provide the details to Inland Revenue Department as soon as possible to make Voluntary Discloser of Income Scheme a success. VDIS allows legalization of assets amassed through unclear sources of income by paying 10 percent of declared valuation of assets.



The directive has also asked financial institutions to send names of the promoters, their addresses including contact numbers and the amount they have invested.
