KATHMANDU, April 20: Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has asked the gas industrialists why they were not cooperating on the distribution of gas cards being launched to reduce the loss in the trade of cooking gas.

Deputy Director at the NOC, Dinesh Kumar Yadav, said the NOC had written to Nepal LP Gas Industry Association asking the reason why it was delaying on card distribution process. The Association is asked to furnish reasons within a week.

According to Deputy Director Yadav, although the NOC has given 156,000 gas cards to the Association for distribution after the rectification, it has not distributed yet. So far, the NOC has received only 263,000 cards from Kathmandu Valley for verification while there are 600,000 households using cooking gas in the Valley.

The NOC has been preparing for distributing the gas cards within a month. It has claimed that after the distribution of the gas cards, it would largely reduce its loss in LP gas trade.

After the distribution of the card, a red cylinder would be for household use, while the blue cylinder for the industrial purpose.
