KATHMANDU, June 6: The decision by the CPN (Unified Socialist), one of the five ruling parties, to recall the ministers representing the party in the Cabinet currently and replace them with new party members, is not going to be implemented for the time being, according to Health Minister Birodh Khatiwada.

Health Minister Khatiwada on Monday said that a meeting of the senior leaders of the ruling alliance has decided not to reshuffle the cabinet as requested by the Unified Socialist.

"As the budget session of parliament is currently underway, it is just a rumor that the ministers will be replaced immediately," he said, adding that the ministers who represent the party in the Cabinet currently will continue to work and that there is no possibility of a Cabinet reshuffle anytime soon.

In the current Sher Bahadur Deuba-led Cabinet, Khatiwada is the Minister for Health and Population; Prem Bahadur Ale the Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation; Ram Kumari Jhakri  the Minister for Urban Development; Krishna Kumar Shrestha the Minister for Labor, Employment and Social Security; and Bhawani Khapung the Minister of State for Health, representing the Unified Socialist in the Cabinet.
