Talking to media persons at Dhangadhi Airport, Khanal said that political parties will succeed in forging consensus to end the stalemate seen in the peace process and constitution writing.
“The constitution writing and peace process have seen hindrances time and again from the beginning. But, the political parties will be able to move ahead with consensus yet again,” added Khanal.
He opined that the Maoist party, which is the largest party in the Constituent Assembly (CA), should be more responsible for concluding the twin tasks of peace process and constitution drafting.
In a separate context, the former prime minister said that the government must revoke its decision to legalize conflict-era property transactions that took place under the then Maoist people´s governments as the apex court has already issued stay order against the implementation of the decision.
Khanal also condemned the government´s recent directives asking government officials to keep certain information secret.
